Call for Content

Drupal is one of the largest open source projects in the world. DrupalCon presenters and attendees reflect our amazing community: end-users, translators, organizers, executives, marketers, editors, content strategists, designers, developers, and more. Each year, the Drupal community hosts regional conferences ("Camps"), meetups, and other events in over 200 countries. Twice a year, Drupal holds its biggest event—DrupalCon.

Lending your voice will not only help drive Drupal’s continued evolution and success, but engaging in the program at DrupalCon can help you build a stronger network of professional contacts and friends from around the world. Please review the content below before you submit your content proposal. DrupalCon North America will take place entirely online. Sessions will be short and interactive to accommodate the “Zoom fatigue” we all feel. We have more room in our schedule for discussion, networking, and social events than we do low-interaction, presentation-based sessions. Please keep these things in mind when thinking about your proposal.

The submission deadline was Sunday, February 14 at 11:59pm Eastern Time (UTC - 5). View all the proposed sessions.

Making DrupalCon Diverse & Inclusive

With only 4% of contributors who are women or non-binary and 16% who are members of ethnic or national minorities in the country where they currently live, it’s clear that open source has a diversity problem. This imbalance is also present in the Drupal community. Creating a more diverse and inclusive DrupalCon is a step towards addressing the diversity disparity in the Drupal community and beyond. The Drupal Association is committed to building the foundation for long-term diversity at DrupalCon and to maintaining a safe and inclusive event for all, regardless of age, body size, caste, disability, ethnicity, gender, language, nationality, physical appearance, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.

We strongly encourage submissions from facilitators and presenters who have been marginalized due to racism, misogyny, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination.

We're looking for you

Content Focus Areas

  • Community Health: This track is meant to help all Drupalists be happy and healthy at work, be a productive team and community member, and ultimately build a strong, diverse, and welcoming community. Encouraged sessions include those about building community and increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Drupal community and tips for improving mental and physical health.
  • Content & Marketing: Calling all content managers, digital strategists, and marketers--this track is for you! We’re looking for sessions on Drupal’s capabilities for content management and digital marketing; as well as creative ways to use Drupal for meeting digital campaign goals.
  • Core Contributions: This track is for active and prospective core contributors to share ideas about Drupal core and Drupal.org. We’re looking for big ideas about the future of Drupal, as well as discussions about where we want to go and how we're going to get there.
  • Development & Coding: This track is for front- and back-end developers alike covering all things front-end, back-end, migration, decoupling, and more.
  • DevOps: This track is for the Drupalists working behind the scenes to continuously deploy high quality code. Topics include infrastructure; quality assurance and testing; performance and scaling.
  • Drupal and Open Source 101: This topic is aimed at developers and site builders new to Drupal or staff with non-technical roles who want to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes. Session should address foundational tools and processes necessary to getting started with Drupal and open source.
  • Drupal Showcase: Inspire your peers and shine a spotlight on your recent Drupal projects. We’re looking for case studies that show the inner-workings of the project, who participated, process and methodology, problem or opportunity addressed, and how it was all made possible with Drupal. Note: This track is for showing, not selling.
  • Leadership, Management, & Business: This track is for agency leaders, executives, and people and project managers. Submissions should share your ideas on business strategy and development, human resources, staff management, and project management.
  • Site Building: This track is for those who build Drupal sites using the administrative interface. We’re looking for submissions on site building approaches and modules.
  • User Experience, Accessibility, & Design: Designing for usability, accessibility, and universal access and inclusion should be a priority. This track is for anyone who wants to make Drupal and the web more usable and accessible.
