Build Lasting Connections at Women in Drupal Event

At my first Women in Drupal event, there were approximately fifteen women gathered in the corner of a temporarily-unused DrupalCon room. We turned on the lights, circled the chairs, and talked comfortably about our work. At the time, I was a backend developer and almost always the only woman on my teams.

I felt at home in that room. The WiD event, along with the women in Drupal who’ve become my allies, mentors, coworkers and friends, has been my touchstone ever since.

This year at DrupalCon LA, we expect over 200 women (and men) to attend the Women in Drupal Event held at the historic Engine Company no. 28. The event organizers, Karyn Cassio and Susan Rust, have worked for months to ensure a welcoming (and free) event. The list of companies sponsoring the event is impressive. (Check them out!)

As CEO of a Drupal shop now, a testament to the opportunities open to women in Drupal, I’m grateful to be one of them. And like most long-standing community members, I am eager to meet and support the women joining us.

MEET THE WOMEN

Here are brief interviews with some of our sponsors, whose generosity makes many things possible; Jody Hamilton, Jess Iandiorio, Kristen Pol, Sandra Chung and Aimee Degnan.
