Accessibility: Building a Compliant Website Without Neglecting the User

Fei Lauren

Once you realize that compliance doesn’t necessarily mean something is accessible, how do you take your work to the next level?

Knowing how to tackle the common compliance hurdles is increasingly critical, but it is just half the battle – building a website that actually works for a diverse audience is a much more nebulous challenge. Every person who touches a project from the client to the maintenance team has a role, and as an organization scales, strategy must follow suit.

But what does that even mean? In this session we’ll be sharing the takeaways from our efforts over the past half a decade. The successes, the failures, the ongoing challenges and how we tackle them. We will even be sharing some of the R&D we hope to bring to life over the next year.
