DANSE, generic subscription and notification solution for Drupal

jurgenhaas

Drupal is being used for community sites, social platforms, enterprise applications, news and blogging sites which have one thing in common: their audience wants to be notified about the new or updated content, reactions on previous activity, reminders and many other events on the site. Although Drupal is popular and feature rich in these areas, it lacks a generic solution for subscriptions and notifications.

Drupal contribution space is full of modules addressing individual requirements, none of which aims to solve the full scope of subscriptions and notifications. Selecting the right set of modules for a Drupal site is repeatedly frustrating for site builders and delivers suboptimal UX for end-users.

This session introduces DANSE, the generic module to address all aspects of subscriptions and notifications in a comprehensive, still flexible and extensible approach. It is already used by popular sites globally and actively maintained by a group of people who always discuss requirements and solutions with a mindset to provide a framework suitable for all Drupal sites.

From the module's main page: DANSE is designed to become the framework in Drupal's ecosystem to provide the only required generic approach in offering subscription and notification functionality for anything Drupal.
