Database solutions for serving Drupal out of multiple datacenters

Blackmesh has been providing High Availability Drupal for over ten years, striving to eliminate the bane of every website operator: the single point of failure. Within the last three years, the most significant changes that we have made to our High Availability Solutions are to how we solve the cross-datacenter database problem and eliminate the datacenter as a single point of failure. We will discuss the fundamentals of the problem and the customer requirements, present three different solutions that Blackmesh has used over the last three years in partnership with some of our largest Drupal clients (classical replication, Galera, and Maxscale), talk about the pros and cons of each, and answer any questions.
