Decoupled Translations with Drupal and Gatsby

nbaosullivan

Gatsby is a popular static site generator that uses React, and it’s a perfect match for a decoupled Drupal architecture to create lightning-fast websites. This session will detail how to utilise Drupal’s exceptional multilingual features to produce a fully localised Gatsby site.

This session will cover:
- Setting up Gatsby for multilingual content sourced from Drupal
- Making Drupal aware of frontend interface translation strings (such as form labels or alert messages that aren’t available in Drupal for translation)

Attendees will learn:
- How to create a multilingual Gatsby site with content sourced from Drupal
- How to automatically synchronise translatable strings from Gatsby to Drupal
- Key considerations in developing a translation management workflow

There will be a few polls included in the session to get an idea of how frequently attendees are creating multilingual sites, and the differing approaches used in translation management.

Attendees should have a basic understanding of multilingual content and interface translations in Drupal.
