Expanding Perception of User Needs

Immerse yourself in at-home, hands-on empathy building exercises, and learn from Catharine how to create magnificent work that is empowered, not hindered by accessible design principles and best practices.

This is a hands-on, experiential learning workshop where you will gain a new perspective on different user experiences in the digital experience. There will be two guided 10-minute at-home activities using items around the home and/or your computer or mobile phone. Then there will be a design thinking workshop to expand your problem solving skills and creativity.
No prior accessibility experience is required. The only prerequisite is an open mind, a willingness to ideate, and a commitment to fully engage with the facilitators and other participants. You will walk away with a greater understanding and empathy for recognizing there is no ‘average’ user.
