Remote work has changed forever. How to adapt and thrive.
We have lived through this pandemic for more than a year. Many of us are forced to work from home, assuming we are lucky enough to have a job. We really don’t know when, or if, we are going to return to normal, or what “normal” looks like moving forward.
While the rest of the world scrambled to learn how to work from home with little notice, many in the Drupal community had already been working remotely for many years, making for a smoother transition for some. But balancing caregiving of other family members while working was certainly a new challenge for many of us. And the isolation is very real.
The question is, how is this pandemic reshaping our work world? Will we ever get to go back to the office . . . do we WANT to go back to the office? Will we want to attend in-person conferences if we can spend less and attend from the comfort of our homes? What impact on communications and connection will a hybrid workforce look like? Will work from home help in some way level out gender equality and diversity? Will we lose our day-to-day social interactions if all of our offices are virtual?
Beyond tools, this session will look at how remote work has changed forever and what you can do as an employee and an employer to adapt, support and thrive during this time and in the future.
