Migrating data into Drupal can be complicated considering the near infinite formats source data can be provided in. This session outlines some of the difficulties faced in migrations built by Zoocha and some tips and tricks to help ease the pain.

This includes:
* Helping guide the data providers to the best format
* Ensuring the right team is carrying out the migration
* Building an effective migration plan and involving the client from the outset
* Identifying if legacy audit/tracking data are needed, or would be more suitability accessed elsewhere
* Ensuring decisions are recorded effectively

We'll also discuss some of the specifics of recent migrations we have carried out, including:
* Extracting field data and HTML into more structured content
* Converting SQL databases
* Migrating files on the fly from protected sources
* How to decide when a custom process plugin is needed

By leveraging the large number of plugins provided by Drupal's migration suite and building custom plugins we show how seemingly impossible migrations are built up and simplified.
