Who cares about Drupal 7?

Most of the Drupal community is forward-looking and excited about what's next in Drupal 9 (and 10!), but a lot of sites are still on Drupal 7.

In this session, we'll look at who uses D7 and consider why so many sites have not upgraded to a newer version, and whether they ever will.

We'll also look at Drupal 7 from the contribution and community point of view; who is still doing work on D7 core and contrib and why?

Finally we'll consider the (recently postponed) End of Life, and what comes afterwards.

If this session is accepted, I'd aim to gather info such as usage stats (not yet sure what's available), and perhaps conduct some interviews with different D7 users / contributors to get their points of view.
