The Indian Community is Excited to Welcome You!

With DrupalCon Asia right around the corner, we are having to contain our excitement until it arrives. So many individuals have been working for many months to help contibute to making DrupalCon Asia a truly community-focused event, which is what Drupal is all about.

A few months back we put a volunteer request on our website and we had multiple Indian community members reach out saying that they would be excited to help us tell the story of DrupalCon Asia. We asked them to write a blog about their own Drupal story and why they are excited about DrupalCon Asia. There are obvioulsy countless reasons to be excited to get to Mumbai and get this Con started, and we truly enjoyed seeing the unique perspectives that our guest bloggers brought to light.

Dinesh Gaddi, told us a bit about his first Drupal experience when he met Rachit Gupta, a leader in the Mumbai community. Soon after that, Dinesh began working with Prof. Sunthar from IIT-Bombay and actively contributed to DrupalCamp Mumbai 2015.

In his blog, he is excited about the upcoming Con “as it provides many opportunities as employment opportunities, collaboration opportunities, get specific about your problems, peer encouragement and Inspiration, module recommendations and most important thing is to meet Mumbai Drupal community which has lot of happening things related to Drupal. Dinesh hits the nail on the head because Cons offer so many different opportunities and is a great spot to accomplish so much and meet so many faces in person all in the same place.

One aspect of that is the skill building that comes with attending a con. “No matter what sub skill segment you are from it's time to sharpen your Drupal knowledge. If you are excited about the opportunity to learn and increase your knowledge of Drupal, here is the chance, grab it and don’t miss out! We have four Days with 50 promising sessions, 72 unique speakers, 52% speakers from South Asia and 48% from around the globe.” Says Ujval Shah in his blog.

And while learning all of these new Drupal-y things is very important and can have a huge impact on your job, the community also plays a massive role in what makes DrupalCons special. Ujval concisely points out that point by explaining “There is no need to wait for IRC Chats, Skype, Hangout Calls, Linked-in Connections. It's a well deserved face-to-face meetup opportunity to get connected with everyone.”

In Neetu Morwani's blog, she feels that the community is a huge reason that attending a Con is important. Not only is it the Drupal tagline, but points out that “This event is an excellent platform for Indian community members to come, gather, code, learn and party together with the shining global Drupal community.”

Not only is it a melting place for various cultures as Neetu mentions in her blog, but the Indian communities “are working really hard to make this event successful and memorable for entire community.”

Trupti Kini echoed those words in her blog and said that by having the DrupalCon in Mumbai, it has “galvanized each one of us to do our best to welcome the community from all parts of the world.”
