Transformation at Sea: Princess Cruises Re-Imagines Digital Experiences for Its Guests


Princess Cruises didn’t set out to revolutionize the on-board digital experience for its guests. However, with IT and business teams collaborating, Princess did exactly that. Learn in this session how a portal project morphed into ‘Princess at Sea,’ the cruise industry’s most ambitious and innovative on-ship mobile experiences. Princess at Sea lets passengers interact via phones and tablets with real-time, on-ship information and services: plan and book meals and excursions; access an on-ship messaging system; read about ports-of-call; manage account info and more. At the same time, Princess has enhanced the crew experience by digitizing offline processes, boosting guest satisfaction even higher. And, Princess staff members are bringing new ideas to the platform.

This project wouldn't have been possible without the foundation that Drupal and the Drupal community has provided.  In this session we will outline the process we use to create an implement Princess@Sea as well as unique challenges in setting up a platform that takes Drupal on a journey to exotic and remote locations around the world.
