Introduction to Bugsmash Community Initiative

Helping core contributions is always a satisfactory feeling. If you are wondering how to start contributing, the Bugsmash initiative is the way to go!!

This session is a community initiative keynote, where we will discuss how we work, how you can get on-boarded, and where you can help us to make Drupal bug-free.

We hope to entice the audience to become part of the Bugsmash initiative by showing:

- The work done so far in this initiative has already made a dent in the number of open bugs on the core.

- You don’t need to be a brilliant coder to become a part, in fact, you don’t have to write a letter of code if you don’t want to! There’s plenty of other skills involved and needed.

- You will become a more “allround” Drupal-er (Coder/Documentor/User) by wandering into parts of Drupal you might haven’t seen or used before.

- There’s no “required” amount of time needed to put into this. If you’re too busy elsewhere, that’s OK. Every minute, how little it might seem, actually helps

- There’s currently a great mix of experienced people as well as fresh-starters. Asking questions is encouraged. Core committers, subsystem maintainers, documentation gurus, we have them all and they’re always willing to help if you get stuck.

- The atmosphere is always light, friendly, and encouraging.
