Onboarding new colleagues, on project teams or on experts teams, always is a source of pain: who has time to do it, what can we do now and what can we skip - in the everyday it never looks good.
We found a way to make it more agreeable and more solid by making it plannable: if someone joins our project management team, we know exactly how much time we need to onboard them, on which topics and who should best do it, so we can plan it.
Same goes for our projects: we use an onboarding matrix to make everything transparent and plannable.
By doing this, we neutralise a bunch of expectations- and communication- related mishaps.
