Automated Updates Day

Join Contribution

The Automated Updates Initiative is a strategic initiative to lower the cost of ownership of Drupal, increase security, and help Drupal users stay on the leading edge of new features.

The initiative team has been collaborating since 2019, when the first Automated Update system was developed as a contributed module, and they are now focusing on bringing this feature into core. Key considerations for the initiative are the security of the update packages, and compatibility with Composer-based site-building workflows.

Join us at DrupalCon to learn how we've been collaborating with other open source projects in the PHP ecosystem, how we are adopting the TUF framework (and what that means), and what's coming next.

The initiative will be sharing our contribution day with the BugSmash initiative - so whether you're interested in security, composer, and update mechanisms, or just want to help make Drupal a better product in general, we look forward to having you.
