Effective collaboration takes a team - in fact, it takes the entire team, including the client!

  • As a Developer, have you ever been handed a stack of design comps and been asked to "go build this"?
  • As a Project Manager, have you ever struggled to translate a technical issue to the client?
  • As a Stratagist or Designer, have you ever seen a site post-launch and thought, "Hmm, that's not how I envisioned this working/looking"?

If you've ever answered "Yes" to any of the following questions, then perhaps you should come join us.

Successful collaboration is a difficult thing to measure. "Are we collaborating too much or too little?" "Do we have budget to get a developer consult on this feature request?" During this session, Aten's James Nettik and Andy Bell will walk you through the collaborative project process, providing tips along way to help your team feel more empowered to make important project decisions. We'll argue that high touch, deeply collaborative engagements with clients is your best bet for successful project outcomes.

We'll be presenting from the perspectives of both a Developer and a Project Manager.

Key topics and takeaways:

  • Getting the whole team involved early on in the process
  • Not sheltering the team
  • Interacting with the client - tools and tips
  • The SOW is not a secret document
  • Trasparency equals trust
  • Building empowered project teams
