Harvard Library - Build The Right Thing, Build The Thing Right

Harvard Library recently launched their new public facing website at https://library.harvard.edu. This talk will describe the overall technologies used to meet the goals of the end users. The challenge was more of a reinvention, challenging established notions of user experience and content modeling ... what came from the effort was a site that is creatively designed, intuitive to use, and endlessly helpful.

We leveraged Pattern Lab for the front-end designs, including some functionality using ReactJS.

Site features include Find A Space, event and staff directories, highlighting library collections and even powering digital signs on campus.

Attendees for this session will learn about how a library system such as Harvard's can leverage Drupal 8 to meet the needs of modern-day universities.

Additional Speaker: Enrique Diaz (who for some reason isn't showing up in the speaker list above username: enriquediaz-0).
