How a Documentation Content Type is a game changer

ThoreauinSF

Documentation is often the achilles heel of fast moving dev teams and site building teams. We build these amazing Drupal sites - then struggle to hand them off to end users or train new users who might not be as technical as we are. The solution that we discovered that is like a magic wand - is creating a Documentation Content Type - and infusing your workflow with it's use at every step.

During development - you can even list out documentation as a view as a front page during scaffolding - then with permissions hide documentation from certain user groups and the public creating a portable documentation system that moves with your code base and database. We'll discuss how to set one up and how easy it can be to compliment almost any site building or devops task with this documentation approach. We'll also walk through use cases - and use of field dependencies to hide fields or add them depending on the depth of the documentation you are creating.
