Implementing a Content Strategy at the Wrong Time

lwinter

Good content strategy starts at the beginning of a project, but that doesn’t happen very often. Instead, projects move forward without a plan or budget and clients are left to fend for themselves. Then, somewhere in the middle, there is a realization that this was a mistake. We now have a content strategy rescue project on our hands.

This talk will cover how to create and implement a content strategy in the middle of a project. We will discuss where to start and how to identify if you are really ready. We will cover the phases you should include in your content strategy: strategic brief, content inventory & analysis, content mapping, page priorities, and content management. As we walk through how to complete each step, I will share example documents and tools you can use.

This session is for anyone working at an agency or within an organization who wants to learn how to implement a content strategy. While we will be focusing on a shortened scope, these are all fundamental pieces for a full strategy when started from the beginning of a project.
