Let’s Build a Drupal Powered Reddit Bot!

There’s been a lot of talk in the community about “Decoupled Drupal” and “Drupal as an API” lately. Most examples focus on creating a separate website front end from the Drupal content entry, but what else can we accomplish with this new paradigm?

In this session you’ll discover how easy it is to use Drupal as an engine to power things other than a website. Together we’ll create a Reddit bot that will:

• Listen to a certain subreddit for specific content to add to Drupal
• Respond to comments with search results of Drupal content

This will include everything a developer needs to know, from setting up the Drupal site with the requisite modules (Search API and RESTful Web Services) to creating a simple Node.js server to handle our listeners.
