Piecing It Together: Architecting Drupal Sites

cgreaten

Jigsaw puzzles are a fun way to test your ability to create and execute a strategy as well as testing your eye for spotting details. Drupal sites, like jigsaw puzzles, come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and complexities. Finding the best architecture for a particular Drupal site depends on these facets and more. How do you architect for different sized projects? What are some of the techniques that are used on each and every project? How do you break down the project and create the right strategy for implementation? How do you manage the build?

To answer these questions, and more, we will discuss how to architect a Drupal site through the lens of piecing together a jigsaw puzzle. We will place heavy emphasis on become a better Drupal architect (but you may learn a few strategies related to jigsaw puzzles along the way).

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Create an architecture for a Drupal site based on its size and complexity

  • Define a build strategy to execute the architecture

  • Adapt the architecture as needed during the build

  • Work with the development team and project manager to keep the build on track.
