Podium, The "What You See Is What You Get" Editorial Experience

Drupal has many editorial experiences, and a lot of them are form-based and lacking a true connection between what the content creator is typing, and what the end user will see.

Podium is an IBM built module which aims to rectify this.  It is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get editorial experience, using in-page text entry for simple content, and a flexible, configuable set of toolbars for complex content changes, and a mental model which is simple, and requires little-to-no training for new content teams.

In the session, we will demo the user experience and how it can be customised by developers, and share our plans to open source it.  No prior experience is required and most of the content will be visual, but an understanding of the Drupal Inline Entitly Form will be helpful.

What you will learn:

  • Why and how IBM built and experience like this
  • What the editorial experience can (and can not) do
  • How to customise the options available for your own experiences
  • IBMs plan to open source this
