Sign Up to be a Mentor

We are looking for volunteers to serve as mentors to new contributors during our Mentored Core Contribution Sprints in the 'Contribution Lounge' space at DrupalCon Seattle.

What is this, you ask? At Drupal events, the Mentored Core Sprint typically takes place in a large room with many round tables, allowing for groups to collaborate while using their own laptops — and knowledge. You will mentor 3 to 8 people sitting at your table.

Mentors help new contributors set up their development environments, find tasks and work on issues. We'll hold a contribution and training session that will help prepare mentors — be sure to attend!

Here's how you can help

Attend mentor events at DrupalCon:

  • Assist participants in First-Time Contributor Workshop on Friday, April 12
  • Mentor for a half or whole day during the Mentored Core Contribution Day on Friday, April 12
  • Review participants' work on the day of the contribution
  • Help on the ground, which is done by offering assistance for attendees to choose the right contribution room for them; greeting people; taking photos; etc.

The tickets will be distributed at the discretion of Core Mentoring Leads, the core mentoring initiative lead. Experienced mentors who would not be able to attend DrupalCon without the free ticket are given first priority. Deadline for requesting a free ticket is November 21, 2018. Free ticket recipients will be announced by November 28, 2018.
