Hiring, and being hired, in the distributed workspace

estamatic

With remote work opportunities becoming more and more common, we see an increasing number of both remote jobs and applicants. What is the best way to look for talent, when you’re not limited by geographic boundaries? As an applicant, what should you expect from potential employers when looking for a remote job?

This session will outline several aspects of hiring remote workers, both from the viewpoint of a hiring manager and an applicant.

Learning Objectives

For hiring managers:

  • Where to post remote jobs.

  • How to distinguish good applicants from all the others.

  • What candidates are looking for in a remote company.

For job-seekers:

  • How to apply for multiple jobs efficiently.

  • How to put together a compelling application.

  • What hiring managers expect from a good applicant.

At the end of this session, attendees will be able to apply for promising remote jobs and/or be able to form a complete hiring plan with confidence.

Target Audience

This session is for everyone! Specifically, anyone who’s part of hiring team or any potential job applicants.

Prerequisites

Attendees will get the most out of this session by being familiar or interested in: hiring processes, job applications, and general résume construction.
