Revisions in Drupal are hard to work with, especially programmatically. This session will look at ways to make your life easier when building sites with complex revision and workflow rules.

Even simple workflows can introduce unintended complexities. This session will examine common problems with content revisions, including:

  • Content migration and maintaining revisions

  • Editing existing/live content while preserving new drafts

  • When to enable or disable revisions for each content type

This session will look at content revisions, and how to manage them from an editorial experience as well a developer/programmatic viewpoint.

Learning Objectives

Attendees will gain a clear overview of workflows and content revisions. At the end of this session, content migration with revisions will make sense. Attendees will also gain awareness of various modules and other tools to make revisions and workflow work seamless on their projects.

Target Audience

This session is intended for those who deal with content revisions in some way. This may be site builders who manage editorial workflows or back-end developers who write content migration plugins that have to account for revisions.
