Design is not Art

When we talk about design, too often we talk about it in terms of making things pretty. Too often, we talk about making our sites pop, shine, or sizzle. But design is not art. Design is about solving problems for our users; it's how we provide value, grow our business, and keep our users coming back. Design needs to be part of the process from the beginning, needs to be an integral part of everything we do.

Design cuts across multiple disciplines, from user research to visual and user experience design to front end and back end development. Good design is everyone's responsibility and is more than Photoshop mockups and Keynote presentations.
