  • Case study - Bene: A beautiful website on a budget, Gabe Carleton-Barnes, ThinkShout

Agencies often struggle to serve smaller grassroots organizations while also working with leading national organizations like The Southern Poverty Law Center and the Humane Society of the United States. Our solution to this challenge is Bene, a Drupal distribution geared towards nonprofits based on our years of experience designing user experiences that increase engagement and building tools to power them. We'll explore how to build a compelling and successful web presence, for everything from store telling to fundraising, all within the boundaries of a templated approach. Bene offers nonprofits a low cost website tailored to their needs, and built on a platform that can grow alongside them. In this session we’ll explore the philosophy behind this approach, the process, and some successful case studies. Topics to include:

    • Creating a flexible system that serves a range of needs.
    • Effectively using CTA’s.
    • Exploring best practices for imagery, and solutions for when there is none.
    • Leveraging open source solutions.
    • Third party integrations.

  • Case study - Integrating Drupal and Salesforce for Every Budget, Marcus Iannozzi, Message Agency

Drupal is a powerful tool on its own, but when it's paired with a robust contact relationship management (CRM) solution like Salesforce, it can have an exponential impact on how an organization tracks users, transactions, and interaction.  It doesn’t always have to be a complicated or expensive endeavor, either, and no one approach is the right solution for everyone or every case. There are a range of strategies for integrating Drupal and Salesforce—from self-service web-to-lead forms, to bidirectional synchronization through the Salesforce Suite, to web services, to third-party platforms.  Message Agency is the developer of the Salesforce Suite for D8, the modules that integrate Drupal and Salesforce. In this session, we will help you think through a strategy that helps you decide what works best for your purpose and budget, whether it’s DIY or requires a developer, and highlight some examples.
