Open Web Lounge

The Drupal Association has teamed up with Automattic to provide a large space on the exhibit hall floor dedicated to showcasing Open Source cross-project cooperation. It’s called the “Open Web Lounge” and you’re invited to lead or participate in conversations with community members from Drupal, as well as other open source projects,  around open source commonalities and themes. DrupalCon attendees have been asking for content related to other open source projects and Automattic has stepped up to help provide this opportunity.

What are Open Web Conversations?

Open Web Conversations are BoF-style conversations about the Open Web or commonalities among Open Source projects.  They are informal gatherings of like-minded individuals who wish to discuss a certain topic without a pre-planned agenda.   They exist to provide attendees with an inclusive, informal environment in which to share ideas freely. They can be serious or fun, and a great way to deep dive on a topic that's not already a part of conference programming.

Potential topics include but are not limited to:  

• Saving the Open Web
• Net Neutrality
• Community Engagement
• Funding Individual Contribution
• What Does Open Source Mean To You?
• Why Open Source Provides a Competitive Edge in Your Career
• Security Updates
• Celebrating 20 years of Open Source. 

We will have a few open times where attendees can sign up for their own topics, in addition to the pre-arranged conversations.
