Goodbye, patch-based workflow. Hello, modern pull requests.

This talk will provide an overview of an important and big change coming to Drupal.org, the home of Drupal and more than 30,000 modules.

Today, Drupal.org uses the same patch-based workflow it’s had since Drupal 4. In the future, we’ll migrate to a Git pull request workflow — this change will allow us to welcome new contributors to a modern environment, getting folks up to speed faster and more efficiently.

We will discuss some of the feature requests and get feedback from attendees on what/how things get implemented.   We will also discuss the next phase of Drupal development tools.

In this session, we’ll cover:

  1. Why we’re making this workflow change, and its value.

  2. How we designed a new workflow and chose tooling for the huge Drupal community.

  3. A demo of how the new integration and Git flow will work.
