With Drupal 8 growing fast and strong we left the Drupal island and dived deep into the PHP ocean bringing many exciting features back to the blue drop. If you have ever wondered what's in Drupal core and are feeling excited to go on a journey to its heart to discover one of the most popular PHP frameworks, Symfony, this session is for you! Attendees of all levels are welcome, but the target audience is beginners.

In this exciting journey, we will go over the steps to start your own Symfony 3 project, and dive deep into routing, responses, and rendering. We will touch templating, and at the end of the session, the audience will walk away with a boilerplate app that fuses together controllers, templates and routes; and provides a solid foundation for a bigger project.

The session is half theory, half code-along style, so bring your laptops (with working server and composer) if you want to join the adventure, at the end of which you will not just learn basics of Symfony 3 but also gain better understanding of what's happening under the hood of Drupal 8.
