The gathering, sharing, publishing, analyzing and visualization of the data produced by our civic institutions have become vital to government, business, journalism and civil society. Increasingly, our civic institutions are realiziing that data = content and content = data. Given that, it makes sense to use a CMS to manage data.

DKAN is the Drupal distribution for data cataloging, data visualizing, and data publishing. It faciliates adherance to standards such as Project Open Data in the US, and DCAT outside of the US. It enables the publishing of chart, graphs, and maps via data stories that help make the published data contextually relevant to the reader's life.

Join us to discuss open data and it's impact on civic society across the globe, see examples of how governments are using DKAN to open up and collaborate with citizens, or to ask specific questions if you are already a DKAN user.
