What is the Business Summit?
For years the Business Summit on the day before DrupalCon has helped leaders of Drupal businesses to share experiences. As the market matures and these businesses grow, it’s time to take the day to the next level.
This year the day will focus on practical sessions to develop a clear business improvement plan for your company.
There will be a huge amount of experience in the room, from people who have grown their business in the first stage to employ a few staff, to people who have grown all the way to employing hundreds. People who serve small local clients, to people who serve global corporations. Around the room will be many people who have dealt with the problems you face in your next stages of growth. Imagine sharing this knowledge and experience in the same open way we share code. There will also be useful data to benchmark your business against.
The day will be facilitated to be collaborative, productive and fast moving.
The outcome for you will be a business improvement plan, that you can take away and begin implementing - and a whole range of new peer-group contacts to support each other in the next stage of growth.
Who should attend?
Delegates for this event should be in a senior leadership position in their organization, such as CEO, CFO, MD, Director etc. The event is for agency/consultancy/development businesses. The organizers will evaluate applications for tickets against these criteria to ensure the right target audience is in the room on the day. Delegate numbers will be limited to ensure productive sessions on the day.
Business Summit Code of Conduct
In addition to the DrupalCon Code of Conduct, delegates who book agree to the following:
It is forbidden to pitch your business or services to another delegate during the day. The spirit of the day is open collaboration of peers, not sales. Delegates who pitch to others and are seen, or have another delegate complain about them, will be asked to leave.
We hosted this jazzed up version of the Business Summit for the first time in Barcelona and here are some of the comments we received when we asked attendees what they liked from the day
- Teamwork, focus on topics, sprints, networking and getting other people to know, exchange with others
- Meeting people with similiar problems, useful insightsand advice from them, almost perfect time keeping
- Sharing with the community from all over the world, networking - acting and not just listening - well done!
- Better than last year - better structure, facilitation, more focused discussions
