Submit a Session for DrupalCon New Orleans
Think you’ve got Drupal or web smarts? We’re seeking mind-blowingly good sessions for DrupalCon New Orleans, and want to hear from you about what you know best.
We have a lot of opportunities to get your experience as part of the DrupalCon program and invite you to check out the multiple ways that you can share your knowledge and passion for Drupal after you look over our tips on how to get your proposal selected.
Submitting a Solid Session Proposal
Here are some tips from past Track Chairs (the community members who select the sessions) about steps you can take to get your proposal moved to the top of the stack.
- Tell a Story
- A high quality speaking proposal isn’t just about what information you are going to share, it’s about how you plan to share it. Telling a story can make a conference proposal very powerful as it changes the perspective from “I’m an expert telling you how to do your job” to “I’ve been where you are and have felt your pain. Let me share what I learned.”
- Share the Takeaways You Will Be Presenting
- Often, talks answer questions that start with “how”, “why”, “when” and so on. Make sure that you demonstrate what your audience will walk away having learned.
- Proofread your Proposal
- This may sound like an easy and silly thing to call out, but it is in fact a very important step that many don't pay too much attention to. Double-check your spelling, your links, your grammar - you're presenting yourself with these words, so make sure you put your best foot forward.
Submit a Session
You don’t have to be the best in everything, but if there’s one topic you know inside and out, you should submit a session.

- Business
- Coding and Development
- Core Conversations
- DevOps
- Drupal.org
- Front End
- Horizons

Community Keynote on the Mainstage
On top of looking for the solid sessions, we have also opened up our Thursday mainstage keynote as an opportunity for a Community Keynote. This means that the community can hear community-focused keynote topics on a huge scale! We are very excited about this and encourage you to submit a keynote proposal.
If you're interested we would encourage you to submit your session as early as possible as that gives our Program Team time to read through your proposal and follow-up with any questions before the begin making selections after the Call for Papers closes on February 29th at 11:59pm (CST / UTC - 6). Once submitted, our team will review every single session and be in touch by March 16th.
If you would like to learn more about the session selection process, you can do so here.
We are looking forward to seeing the incredible sessions that will be submitted by our vibrant community. If you know someone who should present, reach out to and encourage them to submit and don't forget to submit for yourself!
