Blurred Lines: Uncovering the Roles of UX and UI
Have you seen wireframes that are basically grayscaled design comps? Or perhaps wireframes bereft of content, structure and hierarchy, with the burden on the designer to fill in the blanks? Industry-wide, there is a lack of definition causing blurred lines between wireframes and designs – and not just for us, but others involved in the process as well. In this session, we will explore the differences between user experience and user interface, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of each role. This session is perfect for beginning visual and user experience designers looking to gain insight on improving and defining their project deliverables.
What we will explore:
-
A concrete definition of user experience and the purpose of wireframes
-
A concrete definition of user interface and the purpose of design comps
-
Utilizing wireframes to explore additional design concepts to promote the best user interface
-
How to inform others about the intended purpose of each deliverable
