Build - Test - Improve: Prototyping for successful interactions and projects
Prototyping has always been a critical part of Industrial Design because it allows the project team to validate design ideas and work out potential problems prior to going into production. This approach makes perfect sense if your business is designing cars or cell phones, but more recently it has been applied to developing large-scale websites, where the costs of shipping a product with poor UX or without the right features can be equally disastrous.
In this session, aimed at Project Stakeholders and Managers, we will explore the advantages and costs of building static prototypes as a key step in a web development process that bridges the gap between Design and Implementation. You’ll learn how to save cost on complex solutions if value can’t be proven, and conversely put your dollars towards valuable features that demonstrate value to the user.
We strive to drive design thinking early in the project lifecycle, and nothing does so more than by giving clients something they can see and understand. We’ll share how these collaborative models also improve team happiness and productivity, resulting in superior work product in a given time.
We’ll also survey the broader landscape of prototyping solutions available to jumpstart teams. We will also talk concretely about how some of these philosophies have driven inspired us to create new tools to support these interactions.
