Building a community platform with Drupal

jhibbets

Many Drupal attendees are familiar with open source communities and the open source development model. This session examines the open source community around Opensource.com, an online publication supported by Red Hat, publishing stories about creating, adopting, and sharing open source solutions. We will review the content strategy and community building effort for the community publication powered by Drupal. You’ll go behind the scenes and see the nuts-and-bolts, the tools, the metrics, and the strategy that’s helped this project grow to over 800,000 page views a month.

You'll also get a detailed look at the Drupal components and modules being used for the website to foster participation and engagement.

Attendees will learn:

  • How Drupal has helped create a successful community
  • Tools and techniques we use to manage content
  • Tools and techniques we use to guide our community
  • How we measure success and some of our results
