Building a Content Hub for a Network of Drupal 8 Sites

dixon_

Sharing and replicating content across a network of sites is an often sought and effective solution to meet increasing demands by digital teams. But building a content hub comes with many challenges, of which some are not solved by commercial offerings.

In this session we will explore challenges around content replication, suggest some solutions, and then implement those solutions with some serious site building action!

Given a few example scenarios, site builders will learn how to set up a network of sites that share content between them using a new set of Drupal 8 modules, namely Multiversion and Relaxed Web Services.

Questions that will be answered:

  • Governance
    • How to let people discover content across the network?
    • How to get people to agree on conflicting changes in a document? Do they have to agree?
    • What change logs have to be kept across the network?
  • Technical
    • How to manage dependencies of a document, such as tags and file attachments?
    • How to handle conflicting revisions?
    • How to only share a sub-set of your site's content?
