Cheat Code to Project Planning Techniques

prashantgoel

Targets: Team Leaders and Product/Project Owners/Managers

Description: I have been working in Internet Space for more than 7 years now and after working on Freelance, Waterfall and Agile Models, I can say Project Management is a well planned execution of techniques. In past I have seen there is no fixed plan/technique that we can generalize as the standard plan/techniques. It all depends on the situations and is really dependent on project. For a project things which workout maybe not for the other.

I believe these techniques are not only limited to your Projects but they can be effectively be applied to your personal life. All these techniques help you to plan out this in a much better way.

I will share my experiences on what techniques we used and how did they helped us in running the project effectively. I have worked with Large Scale projects and have great things to share.

Following is the Cheatcode for planning projects, I will talk about these in detail:

I am assuming that all the onboarding or pre-project things are done and we are to start a new project. Which includes SOW, Rough Budget/Time estimation is done.

1. Choosing what suits you be it a tool or excel sheets/doc.

2. Creating a Backlog and filling it up with Stories/Epics.

3. Scheduling Ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Sprint Grooming, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Demo and Sprint Retrospective.

4. Release Planning and Deployments Scheduling.

Resource Allocation, Risk Mitigation Plan, Reporting and Contingency Plans are some of the things which also are the part of this.

There is no specific knowledge requirement for attendees but if they have an experience with Project Management that will be phenomenal.

After attending my session people/teams will gather an insight how Charts/Reports can be used by them and how to look towards them. This session will be good for people who want to improve their PM Skills.
