Success Kid.

That's how you feel when you've managed to create something and push it to the dev server. But do you and your team practice real Pull Requests? Github popularized a fantastic practice of reviewing/commenting, line by line, the differences between a set of commits and the currently accepted repo. And sometimes someone just...

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

And says

Y U No

And you get the fantastic idea that, yes, your pull requests, indeed nearly all communication of acceptable programming practices can be delivered via memes and animated gifs. In this fast-paced and generally hilarious session, Matt Glaman and Josh Miller will walk you through the world of peer programming. Whether you're just getting your sea legs (Josh) or are a hardened contrib-maintainer (Matt) there will be something for you all to learn and laugh about.

A portion of the session will also include an introduction of tools that we use to work Peer Programming into the everyday projects. We just know that after this sessions, you will have a more positive outlook on people crushing your heart and dignity.

You will learn:

  • Reasons your whole team should be peer programming
  • How to use humor to deflect from an embarassingly bad commit
  • How to use memes to truly express your thoughts on variables and logic control structures
  • We hope to get everyone excited about reviewing more code and learning from each other
