DevOps for Noobs: so easy, sales and marketing can get it

Porter.Aaron1

This session is a detailed look at DevOps as a concept. We will clearly establish what DevOps is, as well as what it isn't. We will review the traditional IT practices that eventually gave rise to the overlapping skill requirements which necessitated the shift in develpment methodolgies that eventually became DevOps. We will also review some of the most popular DevOps tools available today.

This is not a technical session and is primarily intended for a non-technial audience. There will not be any coding or Command Line interaction. However, part of the session is dedicated to understanding the typical technology silos that exist within the framework of tradional IT departments. Therefore, I strongly believe developers, sys admins, network admins, etc. who are stuck operating within traditional IT paradigms, will also benefit from the information presented, and are encouraged to attend.

No previous knowledge is required for this session. Attnedees will leave with a better sense of what DevOps actually means, as well as a rudimentary understanding of best tools and practices.
