Dipping your toes into coding

You have experience with lots of Drupal modules, know CSS like the back of your hand, but have never taken the step of writing custom PHP code for one of your projects. This presentation will help you dive in and see how easy it is to create custom code to achieve some of your project goals.

This presentation will go over some high-level programming concepts and some basic sample PHP code. Then we'll dive into creating .tpl files, their hierarchy, how to use devel to help you, etc. We will also go over how to create a custom module, the basics of hook system and will use hook_form_alter as an example.
