Drupal: Platform for Digital Transformation

the greenman

Over the coming decade successful organisations will establish an essentially symbiotic relationship with the software platforms they depend on for their operations. In creating tools to support their business, they will change their business, which will require new tools. This process of ever tighter integration of human and software will usher in the a period of change unlike any in history. One of the key tools powering this fourth industrial revolution is Drupal.

Drupal's modular architecture makes it ideally suited to creating digital platforms that can be continuously and sustainably updated to adapt to changing internal and external environments. A correctly implemented Drupal site, supported by effective tools and processes can have an extremely long lifespan and a very manageable cost of change. Unfortunately, too many projects start off with the wrong priorities and never establish the foundations that allow them to last.

The key to Digital Transformation is understanding and welcoming change - at all levels. This talk will cover some of the theory and practice of establishing a long lasting platform that can support an organisation as it learns to embrace constant change. By it's very nature the topic requires a combination of business and technical understanding and will be relevant to a broad but tech-savvy audience from development shops, agencies or internal dev-teams. Covering digital strategy, governance, product management and Drupal development process the talk will provide key insights and practical steps required to effectively use Drupal and a platform for digital transformation.
