Any seasoned Drupal developer is familiar with hooks. But developers that are familiar with Drupal 6 or Drupal 7 may have a difficult time with Drupal 8 because so many hooks have been completely removed. Some hooks have simply changed names, but some have been completely deprecated and replaced with plugins and other PHP objects and methods.
