Engaging Users through Animation
By adding thoughtful, integrated animations to your website, you’ll draw attention to focal points and increase engagement. Impress clients and colleagues -- and feel good about yourself! How can we create animation that’s neither intrusive to the user, expensive for the company or labor-intensive for the developer?
This session will cover:
- When and where to add animations in order to get the biggest impact
- Incorporating animation planning into your workflow
- Encouraging your entire team to think about animation as part of their toolkit
- Implementing animations with CSS3 keyframes and state changes, svg animations, and a few example javascript libraries
During this session, you’ll learn the historical background of animation and understand how we got here, see a demonstration of good use cases, get a walk-through of code examples and key tools, and get pointers on how to get your team thinking about animation too.
This session is an introduction to key concepts and beginner animation code, so it will benefit anyone interested in learning why and how to add more engaging experiences to their website. While there will be code examples, this talk is not for devs only! Strategists, Designers, UX professionals, and Content Creators are all key players in planning out animations.
