We were asked to create a USER GENERATED CONTEST for multiple sites for their client in ten weeks .

The Challenge:

Timezones were a serious challenge in this project. With most of Axelerant project team on IST (Indian) and FFW: QA on GMT +2 and EST. The client Emmis on CST. It was impossible to find daily time that would work to follow agile methodology with IST and EST.

The Solution:

A Scrum Master was brought in, and with strategic sprints, an agile methodology, and sound retrospectives, the challenge was met.

 

By identifying and resolving the major issue of timezone early, show that we were all willing to adapt for the success of the project.  Weekly calls were set up with the extended team over all 4 time zones but we kept them to a minimal and managed to find a time fairly manageable for all.
