Growing an Army on Drupal 8 - Avoid the resource pool block!
Imagine a big tech company with lots of developers (really, hundreds of them!), all working with Drupal 7 and doing good with it, most of them for years now. Suddenly, a new version rises from the community and not just the number has changed. Everything but the concepts have changed in Drupal 8! From hooks, procedural PHP, phptemplate and jQuery. We’re now talking about Symfony, Twig, Backbone and OOP FTW! You know what hasn’t changed a bit? Our projects timelines, as their budgets.
In this session we will present you with a series of steps we planned at our company in order to increase our Drupal 8 expertise throughout various customers while preserving and recycling our Drupal 7 knowledge base, all this without stopping everyone for days/weeks. The following pain points will be highlighted:
