Session Goals and Objectives:

Provide history of various DAMs modules and integrations with Drupal.  Explain DAM critical capabilities and success factors (CSF) and review a number of exiting integrations through the prism of CSFs.  Educate attendees on the opportunities and challenges of DAM solutions, new technologies and advances in real time video processing and image discovery

Audience:

No prior Drupal experience is required, but knowledge of content management process (CMS-agnostic) is necessary.  This session is targeting users of all content management systems who want to know expand understanding of Digital Asset Management capabilities and how to take full advantage of them in Drupal by integrating with one of open source or commercial DAMs: NetX, Nuxeo, EnterMedia, MediaMosa and Cumulus.

 

Primary target:  Web producers, marketing SMEs, Business Analysts, Project Managers, UX/UI creative teams

Session Agenda & Focus Area:

  1. Review of DAM integrations shown in the past DrupalCons – MediaMosa and ResourceSpace – reasons behind limited traction/adoption
  2. Open source DAMs vs. Commercial/Proprietary – functional comparison of EnterMedia, NuxeoDam, NetX and Cumulus; Drupal integrations demo and critical success factors dissection with active audience participation; quick quiz on what’s hot and what’s not in DAM world
  3. DAMs are dead – long live new DAMs: merging worlds of video management, discovery, & real time dynamic device/bandwidth sensing transcoding: Brightcove, Kalture and Ooyala are growing to be new DAMs, the names are still being coined

 

Session attendees will get better insights into all ingredients of DAM implementations (Drupal integrated) and critical success factors differentiate failed projects from successful ones. This session will influence primary decision makers to explore DAMs readily available with existing Drupal connectors
