From Sharepoint to Drupal - The Story of ININ.com

mitchell.carey@inin.com

On December 17th, 2016 Interactive Intelligence rolled out a completely redesigned ININ.com website on the Drupal platform.  This was a complex 5+ month project with an aggressive timeline.  The successful rollout took assistance from Acquia, an implementation vendor, and several key internal employees, and included a lot of lessons learned.  According to the implementation vendor our site is one of the most complex they have seen.  This is due to requirements for module reusability, responsive design, translations via LingoTek, integration with Acquia Lift, and overall design components.  We would like to go through the journey with the audience and express what went well and what roadblocks to prepare for and hopefully avoid if they are implementing a new site…or are even preparing for feature updates on an existing site.  We think this will help prospects as well as existing customers so they have a successful experience on Drupal.  Any level of experience should gain value from this session as they will take a ride from the simplest beginning of an implementation all to way to the complexities of nodes, featured rows, panels, and site configuration.

Speakers:

Jason Callahan (Manager, Digital Design and Web Development) – Technical lead that managed graphics, content, and buildout of all pages with no Drupal experience prior to the implementation.  Jason will share the process of learning Drupal terms, translation implementation, and a global site structure.

Mitch Carey (Senior IT Project Manager) –Project Manager with years of system implementation experience but very little focused on a corporate website.  Mitch will be able to share the team’s journey through design to implementation including risk mitigation strategy, requirements management (plus vendor management), and overall project approach.

*Note that we didn't realize we both needed Drupal.org accounts to be added as speakers.  Newbie mistake.  Jason will create his account at a later time.  Hopefully the speaker info above and also below in the next section will help.
