Tricks and tips to survive in the Drupal world
Being a project manager (PM) is a really important role which requires a lot of well-known skills as scope management, sprint planning, time controlling, excellent multi-tasking, etc. However, being a successful PM involved in Drupal / Web development projects might require extra dedication and a mindset change as well.
In my presentation I would like to share to you details and examples based on true stories and my real experience showing how important from a PM perspective is to have a wide range of knowledge which combines the already mentioned “traditional” PM expertise with basic Drupal site building skills and even more ...
I will provide real examples, recommendations and advices which will be covering the following topics:
- Why is important to understand Drupal and how to explain how it works event to a kid?
- Is it really valuable for a PM to be able to build a basic Drupal site and why (I can share a real case about a training organised for PMs willig to gain more in-hands exprience building Drupal sites)?
- Let’s challenge our dev team in order to find a better solution, is that worthy? Let's challange also our estimates in order to be able to defend them.
- Best practices and tips in gathering client requirements and understanding their business needs.
- What is the added value for the project if the PM is monitoring the QA process?
- Basic scenarios where the PM fails only because he / she doesn't spend the needed time to dig in Drupal.
This session is addressed to all guys working with Drupal. We are a community to help each other and therefore I will be glad to share my experience and real examples.
