VIM and Drupal 8

When I started working with Drupal 8 using the VIM editor, I realized that unless I would upgrade my current setup with new plugins, I would not be an efficient developer and therefore would have to change to PHPStorm. This session is a journey where I will share how I prevailed by investigating which plugins would help me with the new challenges that I faced while porting contributed modules to Drupal 8.
I have recorded a set of clips that outline how to perform day to day tasks in a Drupal 8 project using VIM. Here is the list of topics that we will see:
- Directory browsing.
- Searching for files and their contents.
- Window management.
- Navigating through object oriented code.
- Debugging web requests and scripts.
Developers with a basic understanding of VIM will leave the session with useful tips to help them to adjust their setup to work with Drupal 8, while people who have never seen VIM in action will have a fun time by seeing at how to code using just the keyboard.
